Survey on Morbidity Pattern and Utility Pattern of Siddha Medicine in fishing villages adjoining Chennai will be conducted on 4th and 5th August 2010 by Centre for Traditional Medicine & Research. This study in Neelangarai and Vetuvankeni kuppum of St.Thomas Mount Block of Kanchipuram district of Tamilnadu will enable a better understanding about the disease pattern in this ethnic community as well as provide insight about the popularity, usefulness, accessibility and affordability of Traditional Medicine. Dr.S.Rajkumar will be the principal investigator and the survey team will consist of young Siddha physicians and Students from Sri Sairam Siddha Medical college. Survey will be conducted with the aid of a structured questionnaire and informal discussion. Health interventions like Health education on daily and seasonal regimen, lifestyle modification and free Siddha dispensary will follow the survey.
